MM Group firmly stands for what is important for the sustainability of the Estonian state, supporting the will to defend through a wide range of initiatives and activities. We have set ourselves the goal of being a role model in the private sector as a supporter of national defenders.
Some examples of the Group’s contribution:
At MM Group, employees retain their salary when they attend reserve training.
The company’s internal communications and employee activities are interwoven with training and calls to action related to the will to defend and crisis resilience. For example, MM Group, together with Apollo Group and Magnum, took part in a nationwide sheltering exercise and, in cooperation with the Estonian Rescue Board, initiated a training on the importance of crisis resilience for the Group’s leaders.
The Jaan Tõnisson Postimees Foundation supports several initiatives that strengthen the will to defend, including the “Songs for the Soldier” concert and the Lennart Meri Conference.
MM Group leads the crisis resilience working group of the Sustainable Business Association and advocates the idea that sustainability must also substantively include strengthening the resilience and security of the company, its employees and the community.
The Group is a versatile partner for Reservists’ Week and the Reservists’ Foundation. All Apollo Group companies make special offers during Reservists’ Week. In addition, during that week reservists receive discounts in the lihapood.ee online store and on Postimees digital subscriptions. Apollo Kino organised special cinema screenings for reservists. Postimees Group and Duo Media Networks act as advertising media supporters during Reservists’ Week.
Linnamäe Meat Processing Plant has long-running “digital shelf” campaign products, from the sales of which contributions are made to the Reservists’ Fund.
AS Semetron is a diverse partner of the Defence Forces and the Estonian Military Academy and has also been supporting veterans for more than ten years within the “Let’s Stand Tall” Blue Hepatica campaign.
The Baltic Sentinel is Postimees Group’s English-language outlet, providing top-level overviews of defence and security developments in NATO’s strategic northeastern region.
The third year of the gold badge is a confirmation of our value-based action – Estonia’s freedom and defence capability are our shared responsibility.
In addition, the silver badge was awarded to Postimees Group and Linnamäe Meat Processing Plant for their independently significant contribution.
The awards were presented by President Alar Karis, Chancellor of the Ministry of Defence Kaimo Kuusk, Commander of the Defence Forces Lieutenant General Andrus Merilo, and Commander of the Defence League Major General Ilmar Tamm.
This year marks the fourth time recognition has been given for supporting national defenders. In total, nearly 700 candidates were nominated.
