Coca-Cola Plaza becomes Apollo Plaza – a new hub for experiences and urban life

A new chapter is beginning in the heart of Tallinn, as the iconic Coca-Cola Plaza multiplex transforms into Apollo Plaza – a centre for entertainment and leisure. The first new additions are already open: the family restaurant Lido, the spacious MySushi with its large outdoor terrace, and an Apollo cinema shop with a refreshed concept.

On 10th July, Apollo’s newest flagship store opened its doors in Apollo Plaza, leading to a downsizing of the current Apollo store in Solaris following its own recent revamp. The fully renovated building is due for completion in August. Apollo Plaza will serve as the flagship hub for Apollo Group, bringing together four of the group’s key brands and concepts under one roof.

“Our aim is to create an inspiring, experience-driven and welcoming environment where people feel good,” said Toomas Tiivel, CEO of Apollo Group. “Apollo Plaza is where culture, food, and leisure come together.”

The renovation also opens up Apollo Plaza more fully to the Rotermann Quarter. “Our goal is to make the building a seamlessly integrated part of Tallinn’s urban landscape – a natural meeting place, a leisure hub, and a destination rich in experiences for both locals and visitors,” Tiivel added.

Apollo Group’s Vapiano and KFC restaurants are also located on Hobujaama Street, meaning that a total of six Apollo Group brands will now be easily accessible along this central city artery.

Apollo Plaza features 11 cinema screens, a 160-seat Lido restaurant, a 45-seat MySushi, and an 850 m² Apollo store. Both restaurants include a winter garden and spacious outdoor terraces, better connecting the building to the Rotermann Quarter and its square.

Several of the cinema’s luxury screens will offer food and drink service directly to your seat, adding an extra level of comfort and convenience.

The Apollo Plaza will also introduce a new branded cinema hall, Väärtkino (“Art House”), dedicated to showing world cinema, documentaries, and award-winning films from renowned festivals.

The new Apollo flagship store features a cosy and premium event stage, an extensive range of books, gift items, board games, music, stationery, and more. With over 10,000 titles in Estonian and foreign languages, it offers one of the widest selections available.

According to Kristi Juhandi, Head of Apollo Stores, this is an inspiring and visitor-friendly space:

“Apollo Plaza is a perfect location for enjoying literature and culture. This new store represents the most up-to-date version of the Apollo store concept,” Juhandi said.
“It also features a comfortable lounge area where visitors can relax with a book, do some work, or simply enjoy the inviting environment. Our goal is to offer a space where people can take a break, read, recharge, respond to a quick email if needed, and feel at home. We want to be a companion to everyone on their own personal cultural journey,” she added.

Coca-Cola’s naming sponsorship ended on 30 June, but the wider collaboration between Apollo and Coca-Cola continues in other areas.

Coca-Cola Plaza was Estonia’s first purpose-built cinema complex, with 11 screens. Since opening in spring 2001, it has been a trendsetter and trailblazer in the local cinema landscape.

Apollo Group is a holding company owned by MM Grupp, operating Apollo stores and cinemas across the Baltics and Finland, as well as O’Learys entertainment centres, Vapiano, MySushi, and Lido restaurants, KFC fast food outlets, Blender juice bars, and IceCafe ice cream cafés.
